Eye Surgeons, ENTs, and Plastic Surgeons Working Togetherbest-eye-surgeon-los-angeles

The orbital area is the section of the midface that includes the eye, eye socket, bone, muscle, and surrounding tissues. Also known as the orbit, it is a highly compact and very fragile area. Often times, a patient will need surgery in the orbital area due to trauma, tumors, or a type of defect.

Many times the cause can include one or more different surgeons from different departments coming together for a finalized product. In the case of trauma, sometimes the eye socket and sinus cavity are affected, needing an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor) to repair the sinus cavity as well as an oculoplastic surgeon, who specializes in plastic surgery of the eye area.

With Grave’s Disease, also known as thyroid eye disease, it usually is diagnosed by an ENT doctor and if there are symptoms affecting the eyes at that point a plastic surgeon who specializes in orbital decompression will step in to alleviate the symptoms.

In other cases, such as skin cancer around the eyelid, the cancer will need to remove and the eyelid would need to be adjusted by a plastic surgeon to look natural, as if the tumor has never happened.

Whatever the cause, our team of doctors have your patient satisfaction in common. They work together repairing and creating beautiful work, keeping the preservation of your vision at the forefront of their minds.
